The Double Take brings together two creations from Gentlemen’s Magic: Starpoint and Painting Card. This set combines two highly visual card magic effects, with transformations that seem to happen right before the spectators’ eyes.
STARPOINT: DOTS REVEAL THE SELECTED CARD
A spectator freely selects a card and keeps it secret. Using a Sharpie marker, the magician draws several dots on the back of a card. In an instant, the dots visually move and transform to reveal the name of the selected card. The card can then be handed to the spectator as a souvenir. The gimmick is handmade, resets instantly, and is designed to be easy to perform, without restrictive angle requirements.
PAINTING CARD: IMPOSSIBLE TRANSFORMATIONS
Created by Mickaël Chatelain in collaboration with Gentlemen’s Magic, Painting Card allows you to perform several visual effects with ease. Impossible predictions, instant vanishes, and color changes become possible without complicated sleight of hand.
A SIGNED PREDICTION AND VISUAL TRANSFORMATIONS
With Painting Card, a prediction placed beneath a glass matches the card freely selected and signed by the spectator. A red-backed card can also instantly change to a blue back, even when signed. In another routine, a signed card vanishes between two cards before reappearing face-up inside the deck.
HANDMADE GIMMICKS USING BICYCLE CARDS
Both creations focus on direct, visual magic. Painting Card is handmade using genuine Bicycle Rider Back cards produced by USPCC, providing a natural appearance and good durability.
